What means Prosumer?

Prosumer is a word formed by contracting either the word professional with the word consumer.

In particular, prosumer are hobbyists that become more demanding in the pursuits of their hobbies, often rising above the level of dilettante (an amateur, someone who dabbles in a field out of casual interest rather than as a profession or serious interest) to the point of commanding skills equal to that of professionals.
