In their Pre-Kina 2008 announcements Canon has announced 13! photo printers:

• 2 compact photo printers – Selphy ES3 and Selphy ES30
• 8 new photo Multi-Function Printers – MP190, MP240, MP260, MP480, MP540, MP620, MP630, MP980
• and 3 photo printers PIXMA iP1900, iP3600, iP4600

Compact photo Printers

The first two are Selphy photo printers – Selphy ES3 and Selphy ES30. These compact photo printers offer stylish, updated designs with new creative photo printing options. The Canon ES3 has a 3.5-inch LCD screen and offers 1 GB built-in memory. The cheaper Canon ES30 model has a smaller 3-inch screen. Both models offer rapid image viewing and function selection with Canon’s Easy-Scroll Wheel, a more intuitive button layout, and a handy integrated power adaptor. Unique Easy Photo Packs combine ink and media for simple operation and protection from dust, and new Gold and Silver Easy Photo Packs add sparkle to prints.

MFPs attack

Canon PIXMA MP190, MP240, and MP260 are basic multi-function printers. They have no LCD displays and offer only basic functions.

MP190 prints 10x15cm borderless photo in approximately 70 seconds, MP240 and MP260 print this photo in 45 seconds and have self-opening paper tray. MP260 also offers memory card reader slots.

Canon PIXMA MP480 has 4.5 cm TFT display and prints 10x15cm photo in 45 seconds,  while MP540 has 5 cm TFT display and prints the same photo in 41 seconds. Also MP540 has 2 times smaller ink droplets, which are 1pl, compared to 2pl in MP480 model. Both printers have PictBridge and memory card slots. MP540 has new separate cartriges.

Canon PIXMA MP620 and MP630 have large 6.2 cm TFT display and new separate 5-ink cartriges with minimum 1 pl droplet size, FINE print head and ContrastPLUS. MP620 prints 10x15cm photo in 45 seconds and has WiFi/ Ethernet connection, while MP630 prints borderless 10 x 15cm photo in approximately 20 seconds. MP630 has also two-side and CD printig features.

Canon PIXMA MP980 is top MFP in Canons product line. Top-quality, fast printing is delivered by the combination of an impressive 9600x2400dpi resolution, tiny 1pl ink droplets for smooth, grain-free colour and monochrome images. It has 6 single inks tanks. The additional grey ink tank delivers superior-quality monochrome photo prints. The print speed for a photolab-quality 10x15cm borderless print in just 20 seconds. Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity means that you can share your printer over a network. The 8.8cm TFT display makes PC-free operation clear and concise – enhanced by the Easy-Scroll Wheel for simple menu navigation.

Canon PIXMA iP printers

Canon PIXMA iP1900 is an affordable entry-level home photo printer and features 2pl ink droplets for photolab-quality printing. It has 2 ink tanks (1 black, 1 3-ink color) with minimum 2 pl ink droplets and FINE Cartridges.

Canon PIXMA iP3600 and iP4600 are compact, affordable home photo printers. Both printers have 5 ink tanks and 1 pl ink droplets and 2 paper trays. iP3600 prints 10×15 photo in 41 seconds, while iP4600 in 20 seconds. iP4600 also can print on printable CD/DVDs
